A drawing or a reindeer picturecan be created in pencils, paint or pastels. They will be classed into two seperate age groups; 4 to 7 and 8 to 12. One from each group will be chosen. With your parents help please send your entries as an image to us in either jpeg or gif format and no larger than 400 x 400 pixels.

To the far right is a beautiful picture of our reindeer named Jingle when she was small. All our reindeers are friendly and gentle and love to be patted. They are called: Belle, Jingle, Crystal, Cracker and Frostie.

The reindeer is a majestic animal, but did you know that reindeer are excellent swimmers? A male is referred to as a buck, a female is referred to as a doe. The sound they make is refered to as a bellow. Did you know a day-old reindeer calf can outrun a man? Also, the reindeer is the only species of deer in which the female has horns as well as the male. They eat a wide variety of vegetation consisting of edible mushrooms, lichens and tough grasses. Male reindeer have inflatable pouches of skin under their throats. This amplifies the roar during the rutting season & with extra wide, splayed hooves it enables the reindeer to spread weight on soft snow to prevent them from sinking.
The competition will challenge the young and very young artists to create images of how they see a reindeer pulling Sant's sleigh.
Perhaps you have seen a reindeer picture with Santa and his little helpers decorating your school or the streets in and around where you live. Perhaps you could copy from some of the wonderful animated Christmas lights, or if your parents make a booking with Santa & his reindeer to visit your home or your teachers book the same for the school, you will be able to take a picture of a "Live" reindeer.
Please don't forget to include your Name, Gender, Age and School. The best entry will be placed on our website with your name and age for all to see!
Our Reindeer are available at Christmas time with Santa and his little elves, they can visit you in your home if you want them too. Sometimes the elves are excited and get up to their high-jinx, one in particula is sometimes naughty and Ruldolph the red nosed reindeer has to put him in his place.
Rudolph loves children and is just as excited as you are when it comes to Christmas. If you are quick enough you can hand in your "Wish-List" to the jolly man in red with a white beard whom we all love and adore.
